4 species of insects (loosely based on real ones) were used.<br />
<br />
3 lights on the scene: keylight on the left, and two on top (one of which only affects speculars). Post work done in Photoshop (color correction, fixing some details and adding the smoke). Displacement used in geom that is on top of the skull. <br />
<br />
This was my first idea for the NVidia Surreal contest, but I decided to drop it and use my own style :-)<br />

	<title>Mushrooms, An Experimental Aproach</title>

Some mushrooms with a stylized look.<br />
Used lofts for the mushrooms, converted them to polys; lattice modifier to create the twigs and particles to create the ground chunks; wirejumble script to make the “roots” on the left. No displacement maps used.<br />

The technical details: max scanline; displacement for the background branches; ParticleFlow for the small twigs around the stones (which have procedural materials blended with some textures); post in photoshop.<br />
